Hilton Malta is a five-star hotel located on the coast by the marina in Portomaso, approximately 11 km from Malta International Airport. If you have a poor sense of direction, locating the hotel from a distance will be very easy thanks to the Portomaso Business Tower, which is distinctive and the tallest building on the island. At the very end of this review, you will find a very rich photo gallery from the hotel. We arrived in Malta on the inaugural flight of the low-cost airline Wizz Air from Gdansk, which you can read about in this comprehensive post.

This hotel is a very large property – offering as many as 410 rooms and suites. The hotel features numerous shops, restaurants, several swimming pools, and a beautiful sea view. The hotel participates in the Hilton Honors loyalty program and belongs to Category 6.
We arrived at the hotel early in the morning, so our room was not ready yet. We were offered luggage storage and the option to wait in the Executive Lounge or use the pool. Since all our belongings were in our luggage, we chose the lounge.
Our room, Deluxe Twin Sea View number 622, was located on the 6th floor, featured two beds, and offered a view of the Mediterranean Sea. It had its own large private balcony, very effective air conditioning, a minibar, a work desk, and of course, an LCD TV. Wi-Fi wireless internet was also available and worked very well. Waiting for us in the room were a welcome note, mineral water, and sweets. The room amenities also included an iron, ironing board, bathrobes with slippers, and tea and coffee making facilities replenished upon request. For demanding guests who have trouble sleeping, various types of pillows were prepared.

The view from the room was beautiful. Palm trees and the pool below, and the sea straight ahead. The photo below shows the sunrise.

The bathroom featured a bathtub with a shower, plenty of towels, and standard toiletries. The bathroom was not huge, but large enough to move around comfortably.

We went down for breakfast right after 7:00 AM, which was just after service started. In the early morning, there was not much traffic, but hotel guests gradually kept arriving. The selection of dishes was huge. Naturally, an English Breakfast was served, as well as other dishes too numerous to mention, but everything is captured in the photos. There was something good for everyone, whether sweet or savory. The sun-dried tomatoes, salmon, freshly made-to-order omeletes (a wide selection of ingredients), delicious Maltese bread, and goat cheese were all very good. Desserts in the form of cakes, sweet rolls, and croissants were also a must.

Breakfast in the Executive Lounge
We spent a relatively long time in the Executive Lounge, considering waiting for our room and the day of departure. Various dishes are served here at different hours. In the morning there is breakfast, followed by light snacks, lunch snacks, and dinner snacks. You can take advantage of free internet, a printer, or relax with a glass of wine or something stronger. There is a lot of space here. Most importantly – you can sit on the terrace with a beautiful view of the pool and the sea. As for the food, during snack service times, items are constantly replenished. If one type of snack runs out, another is brought out right away – giving a feeling of great variety and plenty of choice.

The hotel features as many as 4 outdoor swimming pools, 2 children's pools, and an additional indoor pool with heated water. There is also a well-equipped gym and an area where you can book massages and other beauty treatments. Since we did not use them, we only took a few documentary photos of the gym.

Thanks to the courtesy of the hotel staff, we were able to tour the suites, of which there are 7 types. Photos from the suites, without distinction by type, can be found below.

The Hilton Malta hotel definitely well deserves its 5 stars. There is a world of difference between it and lower-class hotels. Sometimes it is worth spending more money on a hotel for just one day to relax and experience luxury. Hilton Malta is the third hotel of this brand that we are reviewing. It definitely stands out with its design, and local trends can be noticed in it. Additionally, it seems to us that the standard rooms are larger than in previous hotels. Getting there from the airport is very simple. Apart from the fact that you can get there by taxi, the hotel has very good public transport connections. Direct transport to the area of the hotel is provided by the airport bus line X2.
Staying at this hotel was one of the most enjoyable parts of this wonderful island. Of course, sight-seeing cannot be compared to staying in a hotel, but this stay will remain in our memory for a long time.
